Budget Plans to Abolish School Crossing Patrols

Schools that want to retain a crossing patrol will have to pay the council from the school's budget. Schools will face a choice between paying out of their own money or risking the lives of their pupils on a daily basis.

The council was forced to do a u-turn when they proposed scrapping school crossing patrols two years ago. Lib Dems campaigned to keep patrols at school in Trafford.
